Meal Label Discrepancies: Ensuring Accuracy and Transparency
How we calculate the protein in your meals
Cooked vs. Raw meats:
When we cook the protein in our meals, it loses around 30-40% of water weight, just like when you cook a piece of protein at home at a high temperature. This makes the protein appear more concentrated in the cooked meal compared to the weight of raw meat. We list the protein based on what's actually on your plate, ready to eat. We also use high protein ingredients in the sauces and pasta to help achieve the high protein content and validate this regularly through independent laboratory testing to guarantee our claims are correct.
Slight Variations Happen:
We use something called the Average Quantity System (that's what the little "e" on the pack means) that is standard in our industry. It basically means that while there might be tiny differences in weight from meal to meal (between 0-5%), the average across all our meals are correct.
Natural Ingredients, Natural Differences:
Just like different cuts of protein can vary a bit, other ingredients have natural differences too. We use average values from lots of testing to give you the most accurate info possible.
Please Note: Our meals are made fresh daily in our own kitchen, and we always strive for precision. However, we kindly ask that you allow for a slight variance of 5g to 10g in the actual weight of the meals, as well as reasonable fluctuations in ingredient and nutrient quantities.
If you believe that your meal doesn’t match what’s described on the label, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to investigate any discrepancies and ensure your satisfaction.
